Written back in 2008 when the Irish government had their noses in the trough alongside gangsters, conmen and every two bit gobshite parasite out to line his or her pockets at the expense of the nation. They looted the entire country, emptied it for future generations, all with the tacit and silent approval of politicians entrusted with the welfare of the country and its citizens.Who needs an invading army when our own are destroying us from within.

Lyrics

The Day Has Yet To Come

There are rats in the palace and wolves at the door
And all the lies they tell us just wont work no more
There’s a sign in the window, “We’re closing down today”
And all those lives get shattered
While the boss man gets away

Chorus:
Are we on the road to freedom?
And who will bring us home?
We’ve lost our faith in leaders
We’ll get there on our own…

On the street in late December she cries herself to sleep
No dreams no home no future, her face is you and me
There’s a time when every river turns into a flood
When those who can’t deliver
Get buried in the mud

Chorus x 1

On our own
On our own
We’ve lost our faith in leaders
We’ll get there on our own…

In the corridors of power where pockets run so deep
They’re deaf they’re dumb they’re blind and son
They don’t care for you and me…
In the street there stands a singer and he(she) sings of times to come
Of peace and love and justice
The day has yet to come
Peace and love and justice
The day has yet to come
